Before You Start

Everything arrives in easy to handle boxes. Take extreme care when opening the boxes not to cut through the packaging material and damage the product inside.

You will need the following basic hand tools to assemble your Fall Mountain Home Unit: Rubber Mallet

Optional tools (depending on the unit or options):
Philips Screw Driver, Level

STEP 1: Kick Plates

Determine which uprights are END Uprights and which are Center Uprights:

a. End uprights have Male Pin Connectors on One side only.

b. Center uprights have Male Pin Connectors on Both sides.

Distinguish post orientation:

c. The FRONT post is a Radius (rounded edge) post, the Rear post is Square. Determine which end of the unit will be the starting end.

Fasten two (2) Kick Plates to the bottom of the first End Upright:

d. Kick plates are 3.5” Wide

e. Kick Plates have a Double Female Clip in each end

f. Kick Plates Do Not have finished edges

g. One side of the Kick Plate may have a better finish than the other. (position the Kick Plates so the finishes match)

h. Position the Double Female Clip, at the end of the Kick Plate, slightly over the Male Pin Connectors at the bottom of the end upright.

i. Be certain that the U-shaped portion of the Double Female Clip is oriented downward over the Male Pin Connectors. This is necessary or the clips will not engage.

j. Tap the Kick Plate down with a Good Firm Stroke, using a Rubber Mallet

STEP 2: Kick Plates

Attach the opposite end of the Kick Plates to the next Upright using the same method

Continue until all Kick Plates are attached to all Uprights

STEP 3: Aprons

Fasten two (2) Aprons to the Top of the end uprights

a. Aprons are 2.5” Wide

b. Aprons have a Single Female Clip at each end

c. Aprons have One (1) finished edge (finished edge faces down)

d. One side of the Apron may have a better finish than the other (position the Aprons so the finishes match)

e. Slightly spread the uprights to allow for positioning of the Apron

f. Aprons are installed in the same manner as the Kick Plates

STEP 4: Intermediate Apron (optional)

a. Required in some designs to support a larger shelf (Entertainment Centers, Custom Designs)

b. Install in the same manner as Top Aprons

 

c. One Side of the Apron may have a better finish than the other (position the Apron so the finish matches other Aprons and Kick Plates)

 

 

STEP 5: Top and Bottom Shelves

Place the Top and Bottom shelves in Place

a. Top Shelves rest on the Aprons

b. Bottom Shelves rest on the Kick Plates

 

 

 

c. Determine Shelf orientation, some shelves may have only one(1) finished edge, or special radius, position accordingly.

STEP 6: Shelf Pins

Install the Shelf Pins

a. Shelves are supported by four (4) metal pins (supplied), one (1) in each corner of the shelf.

b. Pins should be inserted in the holes in the uprights, End Uprights do not have through holes, and Center Uprights do.

c. If necessary, the pin can be inserted through the center upright to support a shelf on each side.

d. Set the shelf height by adjusting the placement of the pins.

e. Shelves are adjustable by altering the placement of the pins.

 

STEP 7: Install Center Shelves

a. Determine Shelf orientation, some shelves may have only one (1) finished edge, or special radius, position accordingly.

 

STEP 8: Install Drawer Units (If Applicable)

a. Position the Drawer units so that the section of the Drawer Slide attached to the Drawer will slide into the corresponding section of the Drawer Slide attached to the upright.

b. Gently slide the drawer into position, the drawer slide should lock into position.

 

c. Check for ease of operation of the drawer slides. If the unit does not move easily check for alignment issues.

STEP 9: Install Doors (If Applicable)

a. Place Doors in position and snap Hinges onto Hinge Plates

b. Hinges have two (2) screws for adjusting, one for front to back adjustment, one for side to side, adjust accordingly.

c. Place Pins for Adjustable Shelf (if applicable), behind the door and set the shelf in place.

d. Place Pins for the Fixed shelf so that the shelf aligns with the top of the door and set the shelf in place
